Flawless is boring. WRINKLES, JIGGLES, AND TYPOS ARE HOT.
I've got some predictions about the future. Either they'll come true or I'll make 'em true in my own reality ;)
Unpopular opinion—the pendulum is going to swing (it’s already swingin’ baby! I FEEL IT!)…
Where the picture-perfect, flawlessly smooth, wrinkle-free, everything symmetrical, contorted into barbie doll proportions look is going to become so copy-paste (it already has in many ways), that everyone looking “perfect” (cough, the same), is going to become boring AF.
People will be starved for realness.
For the creases of smile lines.
For skin that sags and that (GASP) jiggles when you dance and make love.
For hair that is messy and eyes that can be seen without butterfly-wing sized lashes hovering over them.
I know I’m already tired of AI…and the way it writes in that AI-ish way that can be spotted a mile away.
Everyone’s copy and wording and voice are getting muddled into a gloppy, gloopy puddle of sameness.
So when I see someone’s true voice shared—flawed, imperfect, grammatically incorrect…
Or someone’s real face—unfiltered, maybe tired, probs a bit mischievous—staring back at me…
I smile and sigh and say thank effing goodness a human still exists in the land of artificial <3
Let's quit the lie of beauty = flawless.
Beauty (to me) is ALIVENESS and evidence of living. Not preserving yourself to be one way forever...but evolving and changing and, if we're so dang lucky, progressing with nature as nature does!
Q for you, boo boo: What's something you (or society or someone) told yourself was a flaw or imperfection but you're learning to see as proof of being alive and in a human body?! (Share in the comments, I’d truly love to hear)
For me...it's a combo of the wrinkles, eye bags, skin texture and firmness changing, and body shape (although this has been an ongoing journey for me). But there are moments and days that I'm grateful for it ALL and I try to soak and stay in that place for as long as I can so it imprints + slowly but surely becomes my norm.
P.S. This is the vibe of my spaces. Humans being human and finding the turn-on in what's real...or just being with whatever's true.
If you’re craving more of that, stay close—I’ve got something coming for you. 😉
